Official Name: Republic of Equatorial Guinea

Size: 141st largest country in the world (10,830 km2)

Is the only country in Africa to have Spanish as an official language. 

Malabo is on the island of Bioko which is 160km northwest of its mainland. 

Is planning on moving its capital to Ciudad de la Paz, formerly known as Oyala, on the mainland once construction is completed.  

Has the highest adult literacy rate of the entire Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Goliath frogs, largest frogs in the world, make their home here. They can grow up to 34cm long and weigh over 3.2kg. 

Its president has been in office since 1979. 

The blue of the flag stands for the sea, the green for vegetation, the white for peace and the red for the blood shed during the liberation struggle.
