Jorge
President
I am Jorge Restrepo, a Colombian who moved to Australia in 2005 and to Bendigo in 2017. I joined HUDV with the purpose of promoting and celebrating the diverse cultures that bring us together through a shared language.
I am passionate about salsa music and Great Dane dogs.

Laura
Vice-president
I am Laura Vanessa Ramírez, Vice President of Hispanos Unidos de Victoria. I moved to Australia in 2019 and to Bendigo in 2025. I love crochet and reading, and a fun fact about me is that in addition to Spanish and English, I also speak a bit of French and am currently learning Japanese.
My passion for organizing events comes from my professional experience in project management, which allows me to contribute by combining planning and creativity to create spaces where we can share and celebrate our culture in Australia.

Miriam
Treasurer
I am Miriam Casas, Treasurer and co-founder of HUDV. I was born in Mexico and have been living in Bendigo since 2013. I am a member of HUDV because living outside my country, it is easy to encounter negative stereotypes rather than the beautiful cultures we have. With that purpose, Hispanos Unidos de Victoria was founded—to share a little of who we are.
I enjoy working on projects at home, attending cultural events, and sharing our language. And those who know me would say that if you’re looking for me, you’ll find me wherever the food is delicious.

Dani
Secretary
I am Daniela Araujo, Colombian, and I currently serve as the Secretary of Hispanos Unidos de Victoria. I have been living in Australia from 2022; I initially lived in Melbourne and later settled in Bendigo.
I have experience as a digital designer, and I joined HUDV because I am interested in bringing a creative perspective to the organization’s projects. I am motivated by continuous learning, collaborative work, and the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that strengthen and increase the visibility of the Hispanic community in Victoria.
I am passionate about painting, enjoy a good sparkling wine, and have a deep love for animals. I have three cats who are currently in Colombia and who continue to be a very important part of my life.

I am Alexandra Vallejo Santos, a general member of HUDV. I am from Ecuador and moved to Australia in 2024. I joined HUDV because I believe in the importance of community, especially when we are far from home. Having a space where we can share the same language and support one another makes a big difference.
I enjoy organizing events and creating opportunities for people to connect in a genuine way. I also enjoy outdoor activities and anything that involves nature and movement.
